Feeling Unfulfilled, Lost or Unhappy
Despite a successful and enjoyable existence, it all seems to be for naught. What you thought would offer you joy and happiness hasn't proven to be very fulfilling in your life.
You believe you have a mission to complete, but you realize that based on your current actions and beliefs, you will never truly fulfill your soul's calling.
You Experience a Change in Perspective
You've had a consistent, unshakeable viewpoint since birth, but suddenly you have reason to doubt your beliefs. Are they your own beliefs, or were they imposed on you?
While you may or may not have previously been strict in your ideas, you now find yourself to be more open-minded and nonjudgmental.
You're on a Quest to Find Answers & Meaning in Life
Confronting your beliefs necessitates rethinking the questions that have come to define your life's significance. What exactly is your goal? What makes us live and die? What is the source of your thoughts?
Suddenly, you feel compelled to find the answers to these and other issues, knowing that the solutions will provide direction and meaning to your existence.
This is a significant symptom of spiritual enlightenment. These inquiries into new meanings and responses will lead you along the path to breakthroughs that will bring you joy and wholeness.
You Feel Lost & Unhappy Again After Having Experienced a Spiritual Breakthrough
Spiritual awakening, as we've seen, has a blueprint but not a clear path. That means you'll come upon a loop that takes you back to a previous location. Regrettably, this leads to sentiments of depression and disappointment.
You may feel as if you're going around in circles indefinitely, and you are. You become conscious of the work you're doing, which many others have yet to begin. That makes you feel lonely and alone, and you begin to question whether or not this spiritual journey is worthwhile.
Yes, it is! The trail passes through many altitudes up and down but if you stick with it, they become more tolerable and eventually become a routine part of your spiritual practice.
You Feel Called to Do Some Deep Inner Work
Perhaps you've dabbled in spiritual work previously, but now you feel compelled to formalize and deepen your inner discovery as a discipline. The invitation to go inward is a sign of spiritual enlightenment.
Intensive meditation or spiritual practices such as etheric cord cutting or chakra balancing may be beneficial. You may research holistic healing approaches, shamanic ceremonies, or the origins of starseeds.
You Discover That Most of What You've Been Taught is a Lie
Disillusionment with your culture and ideology is one of the most difficult indications of spiritual awakening to deal with. Our behaviors and thoughts are bound by rules and constraints that have been passed down through our families and communities.
We feel cheated by the lies when we find that our soul wants do not conform to these restrictions. Another perspective is to acknowledge that those who have taught you may not have yet experienced their own spiritual awakening.
You See Through the Illusion of Life
Many preconceptions about what our lives should be are created by society, and as we experience spiritual awakening, we discover that it's all an illusion. The more spiritually advanced you get, the more you comprehend that time and space aren't real.
Living a spiritual life in the third dimension is difficult because we begin to comprehend that what we believe is real isn't, and what we don't believe is real is.
You Want to Simplify & Declutter Your Life
You'll find that simplicity supports you more than excess when your mind is reeling after a spiritual awakening. You want to free yourself from the clutter of material possessions as well as the bad ideas that are weighing you down.
You're on a journey, and you need to keep your trail pack small so you can learn new things along the route. Take the desire to clean and declutter as a sign of spiritual awareness. The more space you create, the more opportunities will present themselves.
You Feel the Need for Solitude
As you progress over the map, you begin to feel at ease in your own company. You now want the space and quiet to investigate your particular views and purpose, while you may have previously felt separated and alone.
You realize that spiritual awakening is a solo journey. You can't rely on others to provide you with answers. Spirit guides may be of assistance, but they will not provide answers.
You may lose contact with friends and relationships along the way as a result of your decision to focus inward, which aren't fulfilling your happiness or directing you along your journey forward. This is to be expected, and it's all part of the process of spiritual development.
Your Psychic Abilities Awaken
When you have metaphysical experiences, you may notice some key spiritual awakening indications. These can simply appear as signals, omens, or serendipitous or synchronistic events.
You may, however, see mystical visions and develop powers such as telepathy and clairvoyance, which can help you find answers to your spiritual issues.
You Start to See Beauty & Wonder Everywhere
Although much of spiritual awakening has been dark and dismal thus far, this does not remain the case. You will find more delight and happiness in simplicity as your mission and thoughts become clearer.
Everything around you has enormous beauty and significance to you, even the most ordinary moments like picking up a leaf. You start to feel awestruck by everything, but not to the point of being overwhelmed. Instead, it motivates you.
You Start to See the Oneness in Everything
You grasp the unity of all beings as you are filled with amazement and inspiration. You understand how humans and nature are intertwined. You can observe how your thoughts and beliefs have an impact on the reality you create. And you realize that everything is linked by a single universal energy source.
Your Senses Become Heightened
Many spiritual awakening indications manifest as spiritual twangs in your soul, but you could also notice spiritual awakening symptoms that affect your physical body and existence.
A rise in the intensity of your five senses is one sign. You have a stronger sense of smell. Colors are more bright and detailed. You notice that new sensations and textiles make your skin more sensitive. You have a better sense of hearing and can distinguish quieter sounds. Your sense of taste is heightened, and you are drawn to new sensations.
Your Sleeping Patterns Change
You'll most likely notice that your sleep patterns change as a result of all the mental and spiritual work you're doing.
It may appear as sleeplessness at first, especially during the early stages of your awakening. You may, however, experience a deeper depth of sleep. Work in the spiritual realm can be taxing!
Your spiritual awakening may eventually bring you the perfect restful equilibrium you require in your sleep.
You Start to Have Vivid Dreams
Metaphysical messages can occasionally be found in dreams. Don't be shocked if you get weird, vivid dreams filled with intrigue and detail.
Sleep with Amethyst beneath your pillow to help you have more vivid dreams and remember them, which will aid you in your spiritual awakening.
You're Having Dizzy Spells
You recall that spiritual awakening might occur repeatedly until you find the appropriate path. That can be exhausting!
Dizziness is a spiritual awakening symptom that tells you need to re-establish your footing before continuing forward. To go back on the trail, you'll need strong roots.
To provide you with a consistent and stable grounding energy, use these grounding stones.
You Feel Inspired to Eat Healthy Foods
You'll develop a new appetite for foods that actually nourish your physical shape as your taste receptors light up. You'll feel naturally inclined to keep a healthy body for your soul as you assess your spiritual health.
As your body displays its sensitivity to the unsightly, processed foods devoid of actual nutrients, you may experience a lot of discomfort at first. You're more likely to come out on the other side with a healthy, epicurean eating adventure that fulfills your body, mind, and spirit.
You're Getting A Lot of Headaches
Another spiritual awakening sensation, similar to dizziness, is headaches. During an awakening, your mind and soul have a lot of work to perform, and an overworked mind can cause headaches.
Along the way, remember to take care of yourself. You have no idea how long your awakening will last, so take it slowly and steadily. Your headaches will subside if you give yourself time and space.
What is the emotional reason for vertigo?
Physical causes of vertigo can induce this symptom by interfering with the inner ear's balancing organs or influencing the blood flow to the brain, making you feel lightheaded and dizzy. Emotional cues can create vertigo in a different way than physical triggers.
The flight or fight response, which is activated by stressful, upsetting, or terrifying situations, may be familiar to you. Our adrenaline levels rise in response to these types of situations, which causes this to happen. The autonomic nervous system is activated by adrenaline, which prepares our bodies to flee or fight if necessary. It increases our heart rate and breathing rate, dilates our pupils, and increases our alertness. It can also induce unpleasant side effects like dizziness, vertigo, and unsteadiness.
If you're stressed, anxious, or depressed, you may notice these impacts. These feelings can exacerbate the symptoms of an underlying problem, such as an inner ear problem, but they can also produce vertigo on their own.
What are the first signs of spiritual awakening and how do you feel it?
Names like Mahatma Gandhi, Buddha, and Jesus spring to mind when asked to think of awakened people. Mother Teresa or Nelson Mandela, for example. These motivational figures may make you assume that being awakened is the same as being perfect. If that's the case, attempt to come up with some more relatable examples of awake people. It's helpful to see examples of people who are both flawed and seeking to live a good life with a greater good in mind.
- Russell Brand, who seems to exemplify a bizarre contradiction of continually questioning and searching for more knowledge while also having a sense of humour in the restroom.
- Jim Carrey, whose comedic genius aided him in seeing through the mirage of popularity and distancing himself from any desire for it.
- Oprah Winfrey, who popularized Eckhart Tolle and uses her SuperSoul Sunday show to preach enlightenment to millions of people, has a less enlightened obsession with her weight.
People who model spiritual awakening while not being perfect are what is required to make awakening feel attainable.
Now that you've seen a few examples of awakened people, let's look at how to know if you're experiencing an awakening. The ten indicators of spiritual awakening are listed below.
Can you physically feel a spiritual awakening?
There are numerous signs and symptoms of spiritual awakening. Spiritual awakening manifests itself in a variety of ways, including emotional, psychological, and even physical manifestations. Twenty-three of the most prevalent symptoms are listed below. See how many of these you can relate to:
You feel as though your life is false
Everything you've believed, built, and strived for appears to be a lie. It doesn't feel like your life is your own. You don't feel like yourself anymore, and practically everything you used to like no longer has significance or happiness for you.
You craving for meaning and purpose
You have a strong desire to discover the purpose of your existence. You have no idea what your mission is, but you are desperate to discover it. There's a feeling inside of you that something is “missing” (like a part of your soul).
You begin asking deep questions
questions like this “What am I doing here?” “What is the point of life?” “What happens after we die?” you might wonder. “Why do people suffer?” is a question that arises. You start to think in a more philosophical manner. You may be extremely disturbed by such serious thoughts because you don't know the answers.
You realize that a lot of what you've been taught is a lie
You begin to see how many of your opinions, attitudes, and values are influenced by others or inherited from your society. You're becoming more self-aware.
You feel completely lost and alone
Nothing seems to make sense anymore in your life. You have the impression that you are travelling through a never-ending wasteland. You feel entirely alone and shut off from society like a vagabond. You find it difficult to connect with people you used to care about (i.e. your friends, work colleagues, and family members).
You see through the illusions of society
You've lost interest in materialism, success, and profit. You begin to feel as though you are a cog in society's machine.
You see how unhappy most people are
You become aware of other people's misery and suffering. You might want to start researching activism or learning more about the human condition. Realizing how much suffering there is in the world is agonizing.
You want to ‘purge' your life
You've had enough of feeling lost, unhappy, and hopeless. You suddenly feel compelled to declutter and streamline your life. This may entail severing links with toxic people, reevaluating your routines, discarding old belongings, transferring to a new job or residence, or even giving up the majority of your possessions.
You begin experiencing deep empathy and compassion
You acquire compassion when you begin to pay greater attention to the various challenges that humanity and nature both suffer. Your natural empathy is reawakened, and you may have trouble coping with the depth of your emotions. This is a critical time in your inner transformation: you can either use addictions to numb the agony you're experiencing, or you can learn to embrace and express your emotions in healthy ways.
You desire to be alone
You yearn for privacy. You may have been outgoing in the past, but today you are experiencing the introverted part of your personality. You spend a lot of time reflecting and appreciating the quiet. You attempt to avoid social contact at all costs. You might lose touch with a lot of old acquaintances at this stage.
Conversations seem shallow
When you do talk to people, you have a strong sense of being separated from them. You know that talking about passion, emotions, purpose, and the soul is uncomfortable for most people. Small talk makes you feel restless and angry throughout conversations. “Can't anyone wake up and comprehend what's going on?” you scream softly. Your dislike for idle chatter pushes you deeper into seclusion. You have the potential to become a lone wolf or a rebellious free spirit.
You want to quit your job
You've worked hard for years to acquire your degree, build your profession, and climb the corporate ladder, but all you feel is emptiness. Your current employment does not give you with the sense of fulfillment that you require. You have a strong desire for more.
You thirst for authenticity and truth
Being truthful to oneself takes precedence. You despise pretending and putting on the old masks you used to wear. You want to be totally genuine. Pretense makes you sick to your stomach and disgusts you.
You become aware of your old negative habits
Your shortcomings and bad behaviors are painfully obvious to you. You have a strong desire to start afresh and wipe the slate clean.
You experience anxiety and/or depression
You may have severe existential depression or chronic anxiety. The shock of being thrown into your awakening makes you feel unsteady. It's possible that you've been misdiagnosed with a mental condition. Uncertainty and fear are with you at all times.
You become more sensitive
Everything has a greater influence on you. You are more sensitive to the energy of others, the pain of your loved ones, and the problems of life than ever before. Simultaneously, you experience a magnificently improved connection with animals and environment. You begin to feel more at ease in the natural environment (rather than the manmade world).
You want to make the world a better place
At the end of the day, you want to leave the world a better place than you found it. You begin to consider the big picture. This urge to make a meaningful difference manifests itself in the form of actively assisting others or discovering a life purpose that is in line with this goal.
You deeply want to understand who you are
For example, endless concerns regarding your identity and life arise “Who am I?” you could wonder. “Why did I come into being?” “What am I doing here?” “What is the point of my existence?” says the narrator. As a result, you start reading a lot of self-help and spiritual literature. It's no surprise you landed up here. 🙂
Your intuition is heightened
Gradually, you start to hear the silent, small voice inside. You allow it to guide your judgments, and your unconscious mind may send you covert signals. You might even meet up with your spirit guides, spirit animal, or other spiritual companions. Learning to trust your intuition eventually leads to the discovery of your hidden spiritual skills and talents.
More synchronicity
You begin to notice the countless signals and omens that life sends your way. With you, life becomes much more receptive and participatory. The likelihood of serendipity and déjà vu is increasing. You might even have a number of mystical encounters.
You feel more wonder and curiosity
A falling leaf, a spider's web, a child's laughing, and a puddle begin to offer you delight and bliss. Life is no longer dismissed; it is instead regarded as fantastic, amazing, and lovely.
You start to love unconditionally
As the ego's defenses crumble, you begin to love others without limitations or expectations (this includes self-love). Drama, conflict, and everything that promotes hatred lose their appeal to you.
You see that we are all One
You not only grasp that we are all related intellectually, but you also feel it in your bones. You recognize that our thoughts and beliefs have an impact on reality, and that we are all parts of a larger whole Spirit. You finally find tranquility after completely experiencing that we are this Oneness. This stage can take months, years, or even a lifetime.
What comes after spiritual awakening?
After a spiritual awakening, the good life is to remember to turn inward for answers and, more importantly, the pure substance that makes life worth living. It is not how much we do in the world after a spiritual awakening that matters, but how much love can do within us. We are called to be a loving anchor.
What does a spiritual awakening feel like?
Psychological research on spiritual and kundalini awakenings is still in its early stages, and it has tended to ignore events that occur suddenly and unexpectedly. Studies on the impact of mystical experiences, such as spiritual and kundalini awakenings, on well-being have identified the predominantly positive, healing effects of these experiences, as well as some of the more challenging aspects brought on both by their disruptive nature and by their typically biased clinical interpretations. Despite a greater number of research addressing the powerful physical aspect of kundalini awakenings compared to spiritual awakenings, the subtle phenomenological variations between spiritual and kundalini awakenings have rarely been studied. The interchangeable use of these terminology could make it difficult to comprehend these experiences and their effects, especially as stronger bodily feelings may imply more difficult outcomes. Some of the phenomenological and neurobiological bases of drug and non-drug induced ASCs, as well as the links between the spiritual features of ASCs and the symptoms of TLE and trait absorption, have been investigated by neuroscientific and psychological study. However, SSA/SKAs have yet to be mapped within the ASC framework, and the common predictors used to research ASCs (TLL and absorption) have not been tested as efficient predictors of SSA/SKAs.
This paper will explore the general properties of SSA/SKAs, their consequences on well-being, how they compare to other measurable ASCs, their links with TLL and absorption, and the potential phenomenological variations between them in order to fill certain gaps in the data. The authors hypothesize that Spontaneous Kundalini Awakenings (SKAs) are not only more physical than Spontaneous Spiritual Awakenings (SSAs), but also more likely to produce negative experiences, based on the prevalence of anecdotal accounts of physical and energetic experiences preceding challenging kundalini experiences. After that, the phenomenological distribution of spontaneous Spiritual and Kundalini Awakenings will be mapped within the ASC framework by comparing their phenomenological distribution to that of non-drug and drug-induced ASCs. Following a similar approach to the investigation of induced ASCs, analysis will be undertaken to evaluate the hypothesis that TLL and trait absorption predict the severity of the SSA/SKA ASC. More research will be done to see how the SSA/SKA sample's population distribution compares to the distribution of previously reported “normal” TLL and absorption samples. The short- and long-term effects of these events on one's well-being will be investigated.
Is vertigo psychosomatic?
The sensation of motion (spinning, rocking, tilting, levitating, etc.) that may be fairly linked to a psychiatric condition is known as psychogenic dizziness or vertigo (e.g. anxiety, depression, somatization disorder).
Psychogenic dizziness is a subset of a wider group of patients who have a normal physical examination and laboratory tests, which accounts for about 15% of dizzy patients.
Dizziness accompanied by a psychiatric disorder (such as benign positional vertigo accompanied by a reaction fear or anxiety) and nonlocalized dizziness with no evident objective correlate are not included in the category of psychogenic dizziness (such as dizziness caused by a condition that cannot be detected by current diagnostic technology).
“Functional dizziness” is the “new word” for somatoform or psychogenic dizziness, according to Dietrich and Staab (2016). What is the necessity for a new term?
Panic Syndrome
Anxiety and Panic: These are difficult diagnoses to make in dizzy patients because there is inherent ambiguity in causality the chicken and the egg are dizzy patients terrified of being wounded, or are they simply “worked up”?
Is the problem the worry or the dizziness when someone gets a dizzy spell and then becomes concerned while driving down the road?
The main factor that aids in the identification of anxiety-related dizziness is a situational pattern (e.g. dizziness that goes away on vacation). Other anxiety-related symptoms, such as a lump in the throat (globus), may also be helpful. This appears to us to be more of a technique of expressing the severity of the anxiety than of elucidating the source of the anguish.
Psychometric testing can sometimes rule out these disorders, as those who don't have anxiety are less likely to have dizziness as a result of it. Psychometric testing, on the other hand, rarely makes a causal diagnosis because many patients with dizziness are understandably concerned. Unfortunately, the diagnostic criteria for panic specify an illness that may be difficult to distinguish from episodic vertigo and reactive anxiety.
Patients with panic disorder, according to DSM III criteria, frequently have abnormal vestibular testing (Jacob et al, 1989), whereas patients with dizziness frequently meet panic criteria (Clark et al, 1994).
Somatization Syndrome
Somatization syndrome is defined as a set of four to six unexplained symptoms, excluding dizziness. The concern is that a vestibular imbalance could produce otherwise unexplained nausea, headache, or exhaustion, so research indicating a high frequency of somatization syndrome in dizzy patients should be viewed with caution.
For example, I could define a “syndrome” as a collection of symptoms but what does that truly mean?
As a result, somatization syndrome is frequently a “wastebasket” diagnosis in dizzy individuals. The treatment is completely psychiatric.
Depression
While mild indications of sadness are more common in dizzy individuals (Ketola et al, 2007), patients may also point out that depression might accompany an undiscovered debilitating illness. Most depression, in our experience, is reactive rather than primary. The only exception is when depressed patients utilize dizzy symptoms to contact the medical system in the hopes of receiving treatment without being identified as having a socially stigmatizing psychiatric disease. Tricyclics with a significant anticholinergic component (e.g. amitriptyline) are the best antidepressants for individuals with a suspicion of mixed organic/psychiatric disorder or migraine. When depression is suspected, the SSRI family (Prozac, Zoloft, and others) are appropriate options. Keep in mind that the SSRI class of drugs frequently causes nausea as a side effect, and that Prozac has an abnormally extended half-life. When there are symptoms that mirror migraines, Venlafaxine is a viable option.
Malingering.
Because dizziness is mostly subjective, it can be reproduced to achieve compensation. According to the literature, demanding compensation is a common element in people who have suffered mild brain trauma (Binder et al, 1996). According to Paniak et al. (2002), compensation seekers/recipients describe symptom incidence and severity to be about one standard deviation greater than those who do not seek or get financial compensation.
With enough techniques to diagnose nystagmus, astute doctors can almost always detect dizzy malingering. There are also numerous laboratory procedures for diagnosing dizziness or hearing malingering.
Patients who have spent a few hours on the internet reading about dizziness, in our opinion, are extremely arrogant to believe that they can successfully trick a clinician with decades of experience with dizzy patients. Here is a discussion on how to recognize malingering in the case of bilateral loss type dizziness.
Is vertigo stress related?
Vertigo is a sort of dizziness in which you feel as if you or the world around you are spinning. It's not a medical ailment, but rather a symptom of various issues ranging from viral infections to calcium carbonate crystal production in the inner ear.
Vertigo affects about 5% of American adults, and many people notice it when they're stressed or agitated. Even though stress does not cause vertigo directly, it can contribute to the vestibular system, the area of the inner ear that maintains balance.
Let's look at how stress and worry affect vertigo. We'll also discuss various causes of vertigo and when you should seek medical help.
Can vertigo affect your mood?
Fear, panic, worry, tension, annoyance, embarrassment, or anger are common emotions experienced by those who suffer dizziness, imbalance, or vertigo.
What are the stages of spiritual awakening?
The hero's journey, an evolutionary process of growth and transformation woven into all great myths and stories, was outlined by renowned mythologist Joseph Campbell: “A genuinely heroic shift of awareness occurs when we stop worrying about ourselves and our own self-preservation.”
The primary pushing off point for any hero's quest is known as the call to adventure. The call to adventure is a break from regular life, a signal that comes from deep inside, grabs your attention, and drives you in a new direction. The spark that sets off a spiritual awakening is a call to adventure. Every life has a moment that, if grasped, will change it forever. The call to adventure is a reawakening experience, a shift in perspective that forces you to reconsider your perspective on life. A travel to a strange location, the loss of innocence, an illness, a challenge, the death of a close friend, a near-death experience, or the loss of a job are all examples of spiritual experiences. Regardless of the specifics, the experience alters your perspective and causes you to see the world through fresh eyes. You've been given the task of living an ordinary life in an extraordinary way.
At this critical juncture, Joseph Campbell advises that you must choose whether or not to accept the call to adventure. In truth, though, ignoring the call isn't an option because your soul is inviting you to change on a deeper level. If you ignore the call, the opportunity will recycle itself like a skip on a record, patiently waiting for you to embrace the call to a new existence, thanks to your unique karmic influences. Furthermore, there is no going back once a transforming and deeply waking incident has occurred. Your eyes have been opened, and no matter how much you try to reject it, you can't turn away from the image of a greater reality calling to you.
You enter a broader universe once you've answered the call to adventure. You take an active role in your spiritual development and advancement. As you begin to manage your life toward chances that enhance your knowledge, responsibility becomes the operative word. Everything feels the same and weirdly different at the same time, thanks to a tiny alteration in perspective.
