Evangelism is a command given to all, not a gift given to some. As Christians, one of our primary responsibilities is to assist others in becoming Christians. Many of us have evangelism misfiled in the spiritual gift drawer when it belongs in the spiritual discipline drawer.

What is the highest spiritual gift?
Wisdom is regarded as the earliest and most important of the gifts. It affects the intellect as well as the will. It both illumines the mind and instills an inclination to the divine, according to St. Bernard. “The latter is a view taken by the mind, while the former is an experience undergone by the heart; one is light, the other love, and so they connect and complete one another,” Adolphe Tanquerey OP defined the distinction between wisdom and understanding. The theological virtue of charity is perfected by a wise and compassionate heart.
What does the Bible say an evangelist is?
Evangelists are Christians who focus their ministry on evangelism. An evangelist is a person who spreads good news. God anoints evangelists, according to Ephesians 4:11 in the Bible. In Acts 21:8, Philip was given the title of evangelist.
Philip traveled from city to city, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. So, according to Philip's ministry, an evangelist is someone who brings the gospel of Jesus Christ to cities and regions where it has never been preached before.
Evangelists do not have apostle-like authority. They are not pastors and are not in charge of a group of Christians, i.e. they do not have a pastoral position in a church. Some evangelists are known for starting churches. They go to a city, town, or other location where people don't know about Christ or where there isn't a church to preach to the locals. They can preach by going from home to house or organizing a campaign. If there isn't currently a church in the area, they can opt to form one with the new converts after a few days, weeks, or months of evangelism. They will either look for a pastor for the church or the church that sent them on the mission will send one.
Can anybody be an evangelist?
Any Christian who feels compelled by God to communicate his beliefs can become an evangelist. If you have some official status, such as being a minister in your church, you may find more doors open to you. For a license, you must have two years of experience as a pastor, or four years for ordination.
Is pastor a spiritual gift?
The Church, according to 1 Corinthians 12:12, is a body of interdependent individuals upon whom the Spirit bestows His various and varied gifts. The Holy Spirit grants select members of the church of Christ the grace, power, and authority to act as pastors, according to Ephesians 4:11. As a result, serving as a pastor is first and foremost a spiritual calling rather than a job. As a result, an ecclesiastical body does not have the authority to decide who receives what spiritual gift(s). Spiritually gifted people have amazing abilities that come from the Holy Spirit, who then guides them “distributes them to each person as he sees fit” (1 Cor. 12:11). I see 1 Cor. 12:11 as a call to humility in acknowledging the Holy Spirit's sovereignty over the distribution of spiritual gifts to Christians, as well as a warning not to interfere with the Holy Spirit's work in anyone's life.
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that certain spiritual gifts are only given to certain genders. In the New Testament, anybody who: (1) repents and is baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38); (2) obeys God (Acts 5:32); and (3) understands and appreciates spiritual matters can receive the Holy Spirit and any of the gifts He bestows (1 Cor. 2:13-14; Eph. 4:17-24). The Holy Spirit or any of His gifts are not conditional on a person's gender. Because Paul had previously included both men and women as members of the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:12-27), bestowing spiritual gifts on them was a natural next step “The phrase “every one” in 1 Corinthians 12:11 is gender agnostic. Why do some Christians think that women have not been called to serve as pastors, despite the fact that the Holy Spirit chooses who receives what spiritual gift(s) in the body of Christ? Should a woman, called by God and endowed by the Holy Spirit, be denied any role of ministry or leadership in the church just because she is a woman, if no spiritual talent is gender-specific?
Ellen White, a female pioneer and recognized prophetess of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, was convinced of her own and other women's calling to the gospel ministry. She believed that “there are women who should labor in the gospel ministry” because “the cause would suffer great loss without this kind of labor.” The Lord has repeatedly showed me that women teachers are just as important as men in carrying out the work to which they have been called” (1990, p. 325). Ellen White apparently saw no viable distinction between men and women acting as pastors when she recommended that the tithe (which was used in the Old Testament to care for the all-male Levites and priests) be used to compensate women in pastoral ministry (1990, p. 324). Both men and women have the right to serve as spiritual Levites and priests. (1)
I think that not only will Christians be held accountable to God for how they used their spiritual gifts, but that anyone who, for whatever reason, stops others from faithfully stewarding their spiritual gifts will also be held accountable to God. Pharaoh Necho advised King Josiah not to interfere with what God was accomplishing through him (Necho), or God would destroy him (Josiah). Unfortunately, excellent King Josiah perished as a result of his sins “did not pay attention to Necho's words from God's lips” (2 Chron. 35:20-24). I also think of Gamaliel, who advised his Sanhedrin colleagues when the disciples were punished for preaching Jesus “Consider carefully what you propose to do to these men… Because their aim or activity will fail if it is of human origin. If it is from God, however, you will not be able to stop these men; instead, you will find yourself fighting God” (Acts 5:34-39). If the amazing work that many women undertake in pastoral ministry is a gift from God, then preventing them from fully utilizing their gift of pastoring is a losing struggle; with God on their side, no one will be able to stop these women.
What is the spiritual gift of love?
So faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but love is the greatest of them.
This line has unfortunately been taken out of context and hijacked by popular culture on numerous occasions. It's widely shared on social media sites. It is a popular lyric for people to have tattooed on their bodies. This phrase is even a lyric in the main chorus of a highly popular secular song.
This verse strikes a chord with many individuals, including non-believers in the Bible. Everyone, however, has missed the point. Do people truly understand the meaning of the verse, as well as the concepts faith, hope, and love?
Paul lists a variety of spiritual talents in chapter 13 of his first letter to the Corinthians that are meaningless if not practiced in love. He wants the Corinthians to understand that if ministry isn't done in love, it won't bear fruit.
He goes on to describe the attributes of love as well as the attitudes and behaviors that characterize a loving person. He claims that “Love is eternal.” Spiritual gifts will go away and some have already done so but love endures.
Hebrews 11:1 tells us that “Faith is the conviction of things not seen, the assurance of things hoped for.” Biblical faith isn't based on blind faith. It is a well-founded faith in God and the Bible. It is the belief that God will do exactly what He says. A Christian's faith permits them to have hope for the future.
Hope for a Christian is not a wish or a yearning for something to happen. Hope is the expectation that a future event will take place, as promised. The Christmas holiday, for example, falls on December 25. It's not a date we'd prefer to be Christmas. It is the day on the calendar on which we celebrate Christmas, and it is the day on which we expect Christmas to occur each year.
The return of Christ is the Christian hope. New Covenant Christians hope for the Savior's return to gather His people and judge the world, just as ancient Jews waited for the birth of a promised Savior. Titus refers to this as a “Praise be to God” (Titus 2:13).
Love is an activity, not a feeling or emotion, as John 15:13 illustrates: “No one has greater love than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends,” as Christ Jesus did of his own volition for those who trust in him alone (John 3:16).
Faith and hope are a product of our world. Faith is a firm belief in things that aren't visible. The expectancy of Christ's return is hope.
Love is a form of adoration dedicated to God. Faith and hope will be realized when Christ returns and gathers His followers to live with Him eternally. It will be possible to see Christ. The blessed hope will have come to fruition.
What is love in a spiritual sense?
- Spiritual love is a type of love that is based on a spiritual connection and helps us find meaning and purpose in life.
- Spiritual loves can have a variety of purposes: some are supposed to accompany us on our journey through life, while others are meant to teach us lessons.
- Their purpose may not be immediately apparent; yet, our spirituality can benefit us in better understanding our relationships.
- In reality, whether or not we set out time for spiritual practices, our spirituality has a significant impact on all of our interactions.
- Spirituality, in the end, connects us to something greater than ourselves, and our spiritual connection either strengthens or weakens our connections with others.
