Whether spiritually awakened or not, we've all encountered folks like them in our lives.

They don't want to drain your energy, but some individuals simply drain it from us, whether it's by being overly energetic or being excessively down and depressed.

You may have been aware of this prior to becoming spiritually awakened, but it all becomes much more apparent following your transition.

You can no longer take being around some people because your thoughts, feelings, and processing of those around you have changed.

Unfortunately, some of those people, including a parent or partner, may already be in your inner group.

It's a sad thing to realize, but your soul begins to seek out folks who have similar energy to yours.

And you won't be able to resist the feeling of being entirely out of sync with them and exhausted by their presence if they don't.

You don't attract the same type of people anymore

People you attract will begin to alter as you mature within yourself and in your spirituality.

You'll notice that you're drawn to persons that have comparable spiritual energy to you and are unable to connect with previous forms of friendships or partnerships.

While it may not happen right away, have faith that the universe will place someone in your path who understands you and is on the same page as you.

Even if it feels lonely at times, trust that the proper people will gravitate toward you and that the loneliness will pass.

The more you accept the changes in your current relationships, the more open you will be to developing new ones that will enrich your life significantly.

How does spiritual awakening affect relationships?

The love is still there, but the relationship is no longer the same. This could happen to you as well, particularly if you've experienced a spiritual awakening.

You start to see people for who they are rather than who you wish or imagine them to be.

You have less in common with your close friends

As you embrace your spiritual path and begin to pay more attention to what actually energizes and delights your soul, you may realize that you have less and less in common with close friends or even a partner.

Whether it's your hobbies, passions, or just the topics you discuss, you'll notice a difference between you and your friends.

While you're pondering the big picture and trying to figure out how certain events are linked or connected, your loved ones may be looking at the same scenario from an entirely different perspective.

Growth is unpleasant, and because you've jumped right into it during your spiritual awakening, you may find that all of the things you formerly shared with your loved ones are gradually fading away.

Some relationships become frustrating

We've all experienced the frustration of miscommunication or disagreement with someone.

Due to a lack of knowledge, a person who has experienced a spiritual awakening may find that their former relationships become uncomfortable.

Why haven't they learned as much as you have about the world around you, yourself, and your spirituality?

You're hurting because you want them to see it for themselves. You want them to strive to be the best they can be and to be conscious of a larger flow of life than just themselves.

I understand how annoying it is, but keep in mind that everyone's experience is unique. Some people may choose to follow a spiritual path, while others will never consider it.

It's very normal to get irritated in these situations, and you'll either learn to love the connection in a new way or go your separate ways.

Ignoring energies which no longer align with yours becomes hard

Have you ever been in a relationship with a friend or partner you felt wasn't quite right for you, but you went along with it anyway?

Perhaps it was out of curiosity, or perhaps it was just because they have some desirable attributes that kept you in the relationship.

But you felt deep down that you hadn't connected with them on a soul level. It's a superficial relationship, but it's one that I enjoy.

If so, you'll understand what I mean when I say that when you're spiritually awakened, it's difficult to turn a blind eye to this.

You can't entertain those who don't have the same amount of frequency as you.

You can't sit in their company for hours pretending to laugh or care about the same things they do.

It's because you've become so aware of the world around you, that being among folks who aren't is nearly uncomfortable.

You're well aware that being entirely yourself around them is difficult. And this is the polar opposite of how you should feel and act following a spiritual awakening.

Conflict starts to arise

Relationship conflicts are inevitable, but following a spiritual awakening, you may discover that they worsen.

One has had a spiritual awakening, while the other seems uninterested. The other partner may get resentful or confused as the enlightened partner strives to embrace life in a much more honest, in tune with the universe way.

They will be unable to comprehend what has occurred in their relationship. This may frighten them or make them nervous.

From the perspective of the awakened soul, their partner may appear to be holding them back or not supporting them on their spiritual path.

Can you have a spiritual awakening while in a relationship?

Loving someone just for the sake of loving them. Loving someone only for the sake of loving them. Loving someone so much that you can't imagine not loving them.

All of them are manifestations of unconditional love. They're expressions of our true selves.

You've been summoned to become the personification of love. Love is who you are at your core, and as a result, it's what you're here to do.

There's nothing quite like loving as if there's no tomorrow, nothing quite like saying yes to the person standing right in front of you.

Relationships are a powerful container for us to know ourselves and experience life intimately, which is why we never get tired of talking about them.

Your partnership is a spiritual journey. It's a method for you to awaken to your entire self—to the illusions you're still carrying as well as the love that wants to flow through.

Say yes to fully experiencing yourself in relationships; love aspires to know you as you are.

What are the five stages of spiritual awakening?

The hero's journey, an evolutionary process of growth and transformation woven into all great myths and stories, was outlined by renowned mythologist Joseph Campbell: “A genuinely heroic shift of awareness occurs when we stop worrying about ourselves and our own self-preservation.”

The primary pushing off point for any hero's quest is known as the call to adventure. The call to adventure is a break from regular life, a signal that comes from deep inside, grabs your attention, and drives you in a new direction. The spark that sets off a spiritual awakening is a call to adventure. Every life has a moment that, if grasped, will change it forever. The call to adventure is a reawakening experience, a shift in perspective that forces you to reconsider your perspective on life. A travel to a strange location, the loss of innocence, an illness, a challenge, the death of a close friend, a near-death experience, or the loss of a job are all examples of spiritual experiences. Regardless of the specifics, the experience alters your perspective and causes you to see the world through fresh eyes. You've been given the task of living an ordinary life in an extraordinary way.

At this critical juncture, Joseph Campbell advises that you must choose whether or not to accept the call to adventure. In truth, though, ignoring the call isn't an option because your soul is inviting you to change on a deeper level. If you ignore the call, the opportunity will recycle itself like a skip on a record, patiently waiting for you to embrace the call to a new existence, thanks to your unique karmic influences. Furthermore, there is no going back once a transforming and deeply waking incident has occurred. Your eyes have been opened, and no matter how much you try to reject it, you can't turn away from the image of a greater reality calling to you.

You enter a broader universe once you've answered the call to adventure. You take an active role in your spiritual development and advancement. As you begin to manage your life toward chances that enhance your knowledge, responsibility becomes the operative word. Everything feels the same and weirdly different at the same time, thanks to a tiny alteration in perspective.

How do you know if the universe wants you to be with someone?

There will be synchronicity and energetic flow when the universe wants you to be with someone. You'll meet someone who has all of the qualities you're looking for in a companion. Your ideals will be in alignment, your energies will be balanced, and there will be plenty of room for expansion.

What happens on a spiritual journey?

A spiritual journey is an inward search that a person undertakes to learn more about themselves and their lives.

Spiritual journeys are undertaken for a variety of reasons, including personal growth, seeking inner calm, and learning more about oneself.

A spiritual journey might be a personal spiritual awakening or a quest for answers to life's most pressing concerns.

It frequently concludes with the realization that the seeker has gained a greater understanding of themselves and that they are not alone in this world.

A spiritual journey can also lead to spiritual awakening / enlightenment, in which the seeker recognizes that they are one with all of life and that everything in existence is interconnected.

What comes after spiritual awakening?

After a spiritual awakening, the good life is to remember to turn inward for answers and, more importantly, the pure substance that makes life worth living. It is not how much we do in the world after a spiritual awakening that matters, but how much love can do within us. We are called to be a loving anchor.
