What is spiritual wellbeing for kids?

We'll look at why it's vital for kids to understand spiritual wellness, which is one of the 7 Dimensions of Wellness.

Finding meaning and purpose in life, as well as living in accordance with your values, principles, and beliefs, is referred to as spiritual wellbeing.

Religion is not always synonymous with spirituality. For some, it will, and praying to a higher entity is an important aspect of their faith. Others define spirituality as achieving inner peace and comprehending what matters to them in other ways.

Spiritual wellness is intertwined with the other qualities of well-being (hence why they are all interconnected).

The career a child chooses, the friends they hang out with, how they spend their money, their mental health and self-love, and how they take care of their physical bodies are all influenced by their sense of value and beliefs.

THIS IS WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT FOR US TO TALK TO OUR KIDS ABOUT SPIRITUALITY AND TEACH THEM POSITIVE TOOLS THEY CAN USE RIGHT NOW, AS WELL AS HOW THEIR BELIEFS WILL AFFECT WHO THEY ARE IN THE FUTURE. Children must take time out of their day to slow down and appreciate their surroundings in order to grasp the concept of spirituality. “What do they want to achieve in life,” “How could they make a difference in the world/town/city/community,” or “What are ways they can be kind and loving to themselves and others,” are some questions you might ask them.

When we speak with children, we want them to feel powerful, as if their choices and decisions would have an impact on the world.

We should teach children not only to have their own opinions (or the beliefs of their family), but also to listen with an open heart and mind and to tolerate the views of others, even if they disagree. (to some extent… you may not be friends with someone whose opinions are diametrically opposed to yours, but you should still respect them and their beliefs)

Gratitude Journaling

Have your youngster write in a diary or leave comments in a box every night about what they are grateful for. Then, when they're feeling low or in need of a little extra love, they can go back and read what they wrote (or, as a parent, you can send them nice comments!)

Volunteering and giving back to the community

It is crucial for children to see and experience their caregivers being active members of the community and giving back to organizations.

Crystal healing

Some individuals believe in the healing properties of crystals and their spiritual and emotional benefits. Children can even build their own mala and use it to repeat positive affirmations throughout the day.

Family time

Spending time as a family is crucial for a child's spiritual well-being and the development of morality and beliefs. Saying what they are grateful for at the dinner table is an excellent example.

As you can see, spiritual health and wellbeing are a significant aspect of who we are as individuals and how they affect us as children and adults. Our values and views may shift over time, and it's perfectly fine to do so. This is when our daily meditation or journaling comes in handy for keeping us grounded and genuine to ourselves.

What we put out into the cosmos, I believe, will reflect back on who we are and what we want out of life.

So remember to treat yourself and others with respect!

When people use science-based approaches for improving well-being or emotional wellness on a regular basis, they usually start to feel better relatively fast. Most patients exhibit considerable changes within five weeks, according to the studies I've completed and read.

You must, however, stick to it. You can't just stop if you're feeling better after five weeks.

Why? You're undoubtedly aware that if you quit eating healthily and return to consuming junk food, you'll find yourself right back where you started. It turns out that the same holds true for various sorts of happiness. If you want to keep the benefits you've gained, you'll need to keep doing well-being-boosting activities. So having techniques and tools that help you stick to your long-term goals — such as a happiness and well-being plan or a well-being boosting activity that you can utilize throughout your life — is really beneficial.

Your ideas, behaviors, and experiences all contribute to your sense of well-being, the majority of which you have influence over. When we think positively, for example, we tend to feel better emotionally. We tend to have better social well-being when we pursue meaningful relationships. And when we lose our job — or simply despise it — we have a lower level of workplace happiness. These examples begin to show how broad the concept of well-being is, as well as how many various sorts of well-being exist.
