“Being spiritually blind doesn't mean you can't see,” Sophia, ten, explains. “It denotes a lack of faith in God.” When Jesus restored sight to a man who had been blind since birth, it sparked a controversy among Jerusalem's religious leaders. On the Sabbath, Jesus purposefully and frequently healed.

What does blindness symbolize in the Bible?
The Bible uses the comparison of being blind to being spiritually lost several times. This did not imply that the blind were spiritually lost, but rather that they were unable to see, as a spiritually lost person is unable to see the Truth.
How do you pray for spiritual blindness?
Today, you can declare self-evident truths such as “Many people will deny that “men are not women,” “killing infants for convenience is murder,” and “Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved.” They might even call you a bigot or a racist. This is what the Bible refers to it as “spiritual oblivion.” Many people have been blinded to the truth by the god of this world, Satan (2 Cor. 4:34). People latch on to things the devil whispers that appeal to their preconceptions and sin nature. This is a condition that affects all of us. Spiritual blindness can only be remedied by the Holy Spirit.
Pray for people who are spiritually blind to have their eyes opened by God. Pray that they recognize their need for a Savior, as well as God's love and provision in Jesus Christ. And pray that they put their confidence solely in Christ for eternal salvation. Our country's future success hinges on our spiritual visionon Americans placing their faith in Jesus. And it will determine our eternal fate once our brief lives on this earth are done. Our wonderful country will come to an end one day. God's perfect kingdom, on the other hand, will last eternally.
A Prayer for America
Heavenly Father, You sent Jesus into the world to save the lost and to open the eyes of the blind. Lord, I understand that the physical blindness You treated on earth is a symptom of the far deeper spiritual blindness we all have. Lord Jesus, I would not have seen the beauty of God in Your loving face until You healed me. Thank You for allowing me to see the truth and be saved by opening my eyes. Lord, grant spiritual sight to the millions of Americans who are spiritually blind and are unaware of it. Lord Jesus, I pray in Your name. Amen.
What is spirituality according to the Bible?
Rather, when used to biblical faith, the term “spirituality” refers to the four-fold relationship that exists between God and man: holiness, the gift of the Spirit, life in the Spirit, and the discipline of the Spirit.
Who was blind in the Bible?
The healing of a blind beggar named Bartimaeus is recounted in Mark's Gospel (10:4652). (literally “Son of Timaeus”). He is one of the rare people who has been healed whose name has been revealed to us by evangelists. As Jesus and his followers leave Jericho, Bartimaeus cries out, “Son of David, have compassion on me!” and refuses to be silenced by the throng. When they bring the man to Jesus, he asks him what he wants, and he says he wants to be able to see again. He quickly regains his sight and joins Jesus after Jesus tells him that his faith has restored him.
Apart from delivering a miracle story to demonstrate Jesus' power, the author of the Gospel utilizes the story to further a clearly theological goal. It depicts a character who comprehends who Jesus is and how to respond to him properly – with trust. When the beggar is called to Jesus, he throws away his cloak, representing the giving up of goods. And Jesus' use of the moniker “Son of David” – the only time it is used in Mark's Gospel serves to identify him as the Messiah. It was also a reference to Jesus' kingly authority, which would have put him at odds with Caesar in the eyes of the Jews. Because he would have been addressed as kyrios in Greek (‘lord' in English), the emperor was seen as the legitimate referent of the summons of kyrie eleison.
Two unidentified blind men wait by the roadside in Matthew's Gospel, and Jesus is'moved with compassion' and touches their eyes. 20:2934 When Jesus is preaching in Galilee, a variation of the same tale is delivered earlier in the account. On one occasion, he asks the blind men whether they believe he can cure them, and when they say yes, he praises their faith and restores their sight by touching their eyes. He warns them not to tell anyone, but they ignore his advice and spread the word around the district. (Matthew 9:27-31; Mark 10:27-31)
The narrative is told differently in Luke 18:3543; there is an unnamed blind man, and the author moves the incident to take place as Jesus approaches Jericho so that it might lead into the story of Zacchaeus.
What caused blindness?

- Age-related eye illnesses such as age-related macular degeneration, cataract, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma are the main causes of blindness and impaired vision in the United States. Amblyopia and strabismus are two more frequent eye problems.
Where does the blind leading the blind come from?
A situation in which an inexperienced, incompetent, or misinformed individual is advised and guided by a similarly inexperienced, incompetent, or uninformed person is known as the blind leading the blind. The phrase “the blind guiding the blind” comes from the first sentence of a now-obsolete proverb: “When the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” The adage was drawn from Matthew 15:14 in the New Testament of the Bible, which says, “Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind.” If the blind lead the blind, they will both end up in the ditch.”
