None of these events are miraculous; everyone has had them at some point in their lives, even if memory and conditioning have obscured them. The act of waking up includes removing the cloudiness. The genuine self's greatest usefulness is that it allows you to recognize who you truly are. All the other selves turned out to be mental constructions, as you would finally find. You can't escape the fact that a mind-made self comprises an illusion, notably the delusion that your personal identity is a mental construct, no matter how valuable it is. In fact, reality might be defined as the place where one's genuine self resides. For all of these reasons, there is no undertaking more important than discovering your own self.

How do I find myself spiritually?

When trying to put all eight aspects of wellness together, the spiritual aspect of wellness can be the most individualized piece of the puzzle. People, on the whole, like to live lives that have meaning and purpose. When these objectives are attained, it brings peace into one's life and the lives of those around them.

So, what are some things you may do to increase your spiritual well-being? It's best to experiment with several ways to see what works best for you. Spiritual wellbeing can be reached in a variety of ways, both physically and intellectually, because it involves one's values, beliefs, and purpose.

1. Examine your spiritual foundation. You are merely asking yourself questions about who you are and what you mean when you explore your spiritual essence. Consider the following question: “Who am I?” What is the point of my existence? What am I most passionate about? These questions will lead you down a path where you will think more deeply about yourself and recognize aspects of yourself that will assist you in achieving fulfillment.

2. Search for hidden meanings. Looking for deeper meanings and examining patterns in your life will help you realize that you have power over your future. Knowing this can help you live a happier and healthier life.

3. Get it off your chest. It will be easier to retain a concentrated mind if you express what is on your mind. You may feel befuddled and unable to make sense of your feelings after a long day or an important event. You may be able to think more clearly and move forward if you write down your thoughts.

4. Give yoga a shot. Yoga is a physical discipline that can help you achieve spiritual wellness by eliminating mental and physical stress. Yoga is taught at all levels and can help relieve anxiety, sadness, weariness, and sleeplessness as well as reducing stress, strengthen the immune system, and lower blood pressure.

5. Take a trip. Yes, it is correct! Taking time for yourself to travel to a familiar location or to a new location can do wonders for your mental health. You will have a greater connection with yourself when your mind is able to block out distractions and assist you in reflecting and resting. This allows you to eliminate stressors and retrain your mind to focus on total wellness. Exercising, visiting with a counselor or advisor, meditation, or taking a temporary vow of silence are all activities that can be done while on a trip.

6. Keep an optimistic attitude. You will find yourself thinking differently and shifting your mind to a happy, healthy place once you begin to view things in your life in a good light. You'll discover that you're more comfortable when you eliminate negativity and re-frame how you think about specific things and situations.

7. Set aside some time to meditate. While managing your time and everyday tasks can be difficult, it is critical to make time for yourself. Take five to ten minutes each day to meditate, whether it's first thing in the morning, during your lunch break, or right before bedtime. By incorporating meditation and relaxation into your daily routine, you will be able to clear your mind and strengthen your connection to your spiritual well-being.

You can't and won't learn about yourself until you take the time to be still. Many people are unacquainted with themselves because quiet terrifies them; being alone with all of their flaws glaring back at them is too uncomfortable. But you won't be able to view every aspect of your life—the good and the bad—until you get alone, analyze yourself, and be absolutely honest with yourself. Quiet yourself and you will find your genuine self.

How do I become my own person?

To be your own person, you must be able to think, feel, and act independently. This means you can and do think, feel, and act without relying too heavily on others for guidance. However, “no man is an island,” as John Donne famously stated, and human happiness cannot be found in isolation.

How can I be real?

Now say something truthful to yourself out loud, such as “I adore the ocean” or “I enjoy the feel of my baby's head on my cheek.” What is your body's reaction? I get excited when I say something that is extremely true for me, or when someone else says something to me that is very true for me “The hair on my arms literally stands up when I hear “chills of truth.” And if I'm having trouble with something and the appropriate answer appears, I feel relieved “Truthful tears.” Tears that tell me something is genuinely true are qualitatively different from tears that are shed in grief or pain.

What is true for us makes us feel more powerful and liberated. And lies can make us feel restricted and constrained—our shoulders ache, our backs throb, and our stomachs churn.

Stay in your own truth—and out of other people's business

It is out of my business to believe that I know what is best for anyone else. It's pure hubris, even if it's done in the name of love, and the result is tension, worry, and fear. Do I have a good sense of what's best for me? That is the only thing I do. Allow me to work with that before I attempt to solve your concerns. If you understand the three types of businesses well enough to stay in your own business, you may find that it liberates your life in ways you never imagined.

Authenticity is always about being ourselves, rather than assisting others in becoming someone they are not. It is their job to be who they are.

Accept the ugly bits of yourself, including the difficult emotions

“Being yourself” is not the same as being perfect or being the best version of yourself. We are all human, which implies that we are frequently sloppy, raw, and incorrect.

We reject the elements of ourselves that make us real when we just adore the parts of ourselves that we consider to be good, strong, or brilliant. This is a recipe for insincerity. We begin to hide what is genuine and flaunt what is glitzy, yet our apparent perfection is a ruse. With all of our flaws, the only thing we can do is accept them with forgiveness and compassion. Accepting how we feel about our imperfections is also important (which is probably not so good). This isn't to say that we're doomed to never improve or overcome our flaws. It simply means that on this path, we can be our authentic selves. In the words of Leonard Cohen, “National Anthem”:

In the end, the only way to be true is to love and embrace ourselves—and all of our weaknesses, including our anger, fear, despair, and pettiness. It's also the most valuable present we can offer ourselves. It's for this reason that authenticity makes us happier, healthier, and more connected to others.
