This is a topic on which the Bible is very clear. According to Romans 13:1-2, “God is the one who put the government in place, so obey it. There isn't a government in the world that God hasn't put in place. Those who refuse to obey the law of the land are also refusing to obey God, and they will be punished accordingly.”
This verse addresses three points: God affected the election and chose our authorities; we must obey the rule of the land; and if we refuse to obey, we shall be punished.
This verse must be digested and obeyed. Only when a law is morally incorrect not in our view, but in God's should we disobey it. Otherwise, we must be decent citizens who bring the church and the state together for the greater benefit.
