One day that week, God revealed something to me. Recognizing the words “panic ATTACK” was the first step.

My blog had only recently begun. I was opening up to people and revealing my current day-to-day existence, which was something I was not used to doing.
People were encouraged by my blog. By going out of my comfort zone and into faith, I hoped to lead people to a stronger connection with God.
And now, in the middle of the night, when I was most in need of rest because I am not a good sleeper in the first place, I was attacked. These panic episodes in the middle of the night were also spiritual attacks! However, this isn't the same as a panic attack!
It was rather the subsequent thoughts that occupied my mind. This black night of the spirit also invaded my daytime hours, to the point where I was unable to write.
More than anything, the attacks made me wonder whether there was something wrong with my physical health! As I previously stated, I was concerned that I was suffering a heart attack! They were about my spiritual well-being being questioned! If I can't even win the battle against worry, maybe I'm not good enough for God to utilize! That was the assault!
Because I was focused on this IMAGINED threat to my health, I was unable to focus on what God intended me to do, which was to share my spiritual journey and change people's lives.
To be clear, I am not claiming that all panic attacks are hostile. That isn't the case at all! That is something I want to be very clear about. Panic attacks DO exist!
Don't feel as though you're being attacked if you go through these. This is a very real problem for folks, and if you're having problems and haven't gotten help, please do so. One thing I want you to know is that anxiety and panic disorder do not imply that you are spiritually inadequate in any manner. It does not imply that you are without faith or that you are being persecuted.
I'm saying that as I was lying in bed at night, having never experienced anything like this in my 50 years, I KNEW it was a spiritual attack because of the concepts the enemy implanted in me thereafter!
He made me feel as if I couldn't possible serve God while going through this.
What do panic attacks signify?
Panic attacks are irrational feelings of fear and worry that manifest physically as a racing heart, rapid breathing, and perspiration. Some people develop panic disorder, which is a sort of anxiety disorder, as a result of their fear of these attacks. Panic attacks can be prevented with therapy and anti-anxiety drugs.
What does God say about panic?
“Do not be concerned about anything; instead, make your requests known to God through prayer and petition with thanksgiving.” “The LORD hears the righteous cry for help and relieves them from all their difficulties.” “For God gave us a spirit of strength, love, and self-control, not of fear.”
Is anxiety related to spirituality?
Greater spiritual well-being, which included both beliefs about the role of faith in sickness and meaning, peace, and purpose in life, was linked to decreased symptoms of anxiety (P 0.001) and depression (P 0.001) in adjusted analyses.
What does anxiety mean spiritually?
Anxiety is a universal characteristic of all living things, even the tiniest animals whose lives center around survival. However, these species suffer from reality anxiety, a fear of survival-related events such as dog bites or surviving a severe winter, as described by Sigmund Freud. Reality anxiety affects humans as well, but our brains have developed to allow us to reasona capacity that causes worry on a different level, stemming from deeper existential issues about the nature of our existence.
This level of worry is referred to as sacred anxiety by Robert Gerzon, an author and holistic psychotherapist. Gerson's approach to holy anxiety reflects the concerns raised by persons going on spiritual journeys, whether religious or not. “Sacred anxiety characterizes our experience with the ultimate, the fear of death, and the wonder of existence,” he stated. “This is existential concern about our place in the universe on a cosmic scale.”
The understanding that, at the end of the day, each of us is alone within our head, viewing the world differently from others while simultaneously inhabiting it. The feeling of dread that comes over you when you worry what happens when you die, if you'll be able to see your loved ones again “You will either continue to exist in some manner or will fade away into another realm of existence. Sacred anxiety incorporates both of these worries, and although Gerzon compares it to a fear of the unknown, it is a fear of the unknown “Regardless of our religious views, our uniquely human ability to reason has the potential to lead us into deeper anxieties.
What triggers panic attacks?
- Extreme worry and physical terror feelings, such as elevated heart rate, shortness of breath, shaking, and muscle tension, are all symptoms of a panic attack.
- Overbreathing, lengthy periods of stress, activities that cause significant bodily reactions (for example, exercise, excessive coffee drinking), and physical changes that occur after illness or a rapid change of environment can all be triggers for panic attacks.
- A variety of therapies, including drugs, psychotherapy, stress management, and relaxation techniques, can be used to treat panic attacks.
How do you pray against panic attacks?
I come before You to surrender my fear and worry to You. Remind me of Your power and grace when I'm overwhelmed by my anxieties and worries. As I put my trust in You and You alone, fill me with Your calm. I realize I won't be able to overcome this on my own, but I also recognize that I have You, Lord, who has already paid the ultimate price to bear my sorrows.
Does God cause anxiety?
In a statement, Matt Bradshaw, an assistant professor of sociology at Baylor University's College of Arts and Sciences, said, “For many individuals, God is a big source of comfort and power that makes the world appear less menacing and dangerous.” “Others, on the other hand, develop avoidant or unstable attachments to God, which means they don't always trust God will be there when they need Him. Prayer may appear to them as a futile attempt to build and sustain a close relationship with God.”
Bradshaw and his colleagues looked at the responses of 1,714 people who took part in a Gallup poll regarding religion in 2010. Questions were also posed to the participants, such as, “How often have you felt apprehensive, anxious, or on edge in the last month?” and whether they believe “God's reactions to me appear to be inconsistent.” The average participant goes to church once a month, prays “many times each week” to “once a day,” and describes himself as a Christian “I'm a little religious.”
They discovered that people who prayed more often had a “solid relationship to God.” Those who believed God was distant and unresponsive, on the other hand, were considerably more prone to have anxiety-related symptoms. People who believe God is nefarious are more prone to experience anxiety, paranoia, and compulsions, according to a study published in April.
What does God think about anxiety?
Because God views anxiety to be a crisis of faith, the bible does not specify what causes anxiety. Anxiety, according to this concept, indicates that the person has not yet been able to fully trust God, because fear is something that should be relinquished because everyone is destined to be a part of God's plan. In Matthew 6:27, it is written:
To put it another way, what does being nervous accomplish for you that is beneficial? This isn't just a religious issue; it's also a matter of anxiety. There are those who suffer from anxiety and panic attacks on a daily basis, fearful of contracting a dangerous disease or being exposed to a variety of threats. But, in terms of curing the sickness, what good does worrying about it do? What good does it do you to fear you might be in danger to enhance your life?
The answer is that thinking about anxiety has no effect on one's lifespan, either in terms of length or quality. It's only the result of ambiguity, and the bible teaches that uncertainty is ultimately unbelief in God's plan. It's not that worry is a sin, but it is the act of having fears and worries that one would not have if they sincerely followed and demonstrated commitment to God.
Where does the spirit of anxiety come from?
Anxiety is caused by a neural system that is constantly rocked by a stream of subliminal fear. This is a different kind of fear than the kind that makes you angry.
